Sahiwal, October 17, 2015:
81st Convocation of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) was held
at Sahiwal campus in which, 270 students were conferred degrees under departments
of Management Sciences, Computer Sciences, Biosciences, Mathematics and Mechanical
Engineering. 16 talented / position holder students were awarded Gold, Silver and
Bronze medals in recognition of their excellent academic performance.
There were 110 female and 160 male students who were graduated.
Prof. Dr. S.M. Junaid Zaidi (H.I, S.I), Rector CIIT was the Chief Guest whereas,
Engr. Javed Saleem Qureshi, Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council was the Guest
of Honor.
The members of Academic Council, Board of Governors, Large number of parents of
graduating students, members of civil society, notables of Sahiwal region and representatives
of media also attended this mega event.
Ch. Nauraiz Shakoor Khan, former Federal Minister/ Chancellor of CIIT also graced
the event with his presence.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Waheed, presented progress report of CIIT Sahiwal. He further congratulated
the graduating students and their proud parents for achieving milestone in their
lives.
The Guest of Honor, Engr. Javed Saleem Qureshi, Chairman, PEC thanked the management
of CIIT for inviting him to the auspicious event at Sahiwal. He shared that he also
belongs to Sahiwal and surprised to see the beautiful campus of CIIT in Sahiwal
which has been fully functional for last eight years and imparting quality education
to the students of this region. He congratulated the graduating students and their
parents for choosing one of the best institutions in Pakistan.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. S.M. Junaid Zaidi (H.I, S.I), Rector CIIT thanked the
civil society, notables and representatives of media of Sahiwal region for supporting
and promoting CIIT Sahiwal. He expressed his gratitude to former minister/ Chancellor
of CIIT, Ch. Nauraiz Shakoor Khan for his contribution towards establishment of
CIIT Sahiwal campus. He congratulated the graduating students and their parents
for selecting one of the best institutions of Pakistan.
The names of recipient of medals include Tanzila Shaheen, Saeed-Ur-Rahman, Amna
Khan, Zunaira Khan, Ayesha Faiz, Naqash Azeem, Abdul Manan, Mehroz Zaigham, Saman
Akram, Noman Raza, Sahar Noor, Fazila Javed, Tahreem Saeed, Fizza Tariq, Neenish
Rana and Amna Khan.
